Constantly striving to present both sides of an issue whenever possible.Daniel Nimham was a Mohican Indian connected to the Wappinger Confederacy and lived during the period of the American Revolution. In essence he was a Mohican patriot, an individual committed to defending his homeland and his people against injustice. He allied himself with the American side in the Revolution and made the ultimate sacrifice...having died in the Battle of Kingsbridge along the Yonkers - Bronx border; and the dream of regaining his national homeland died with him. His descendants live on the Stockbridge-Munsee reservation in Wisconsin. So, it is our intent, in using the name Nimham, to honor him and to keep in the forefront our knowledge of the past, while discussing the present, and looking toward the future. The Nimham Times Magazine is... Putnam County! Support your local paper.
